An alternative location is the STAATSBIBLIOTHEK at Von-Melle-Park 3, near Dammtor, see below.

Alfred Schnittke Akademie, Max-Brauer Allee 24, 22765 Hamburg.

The Alfred-Schnittke Akademie is easily accessible by public transport, especially by bus. The bus routes number 2, 15, 111, 112, 113, and 215 all stop at Rathaus Altona, less than 50 metres away.

Coming by car means dealing with the vicissitudes of residents’ parking / Anwohnerparken in Altona, but finding parking space on Max-Brauer-Allee and Palmaille in the evening is usually possible. There are multi-story carparks at Altona station, and in Mercado (much nicer) within walking distance (allow 10 and 12 mins respectively).  

If you’re coming by S-Bahn to Altona, follow the exit for the museum, and cross the park when you’re level with the Altonaer Museum (approx. 8 mins).

If you’re coming by S-Bahn to Köngistrasse, follow the signs for exit Behnstrasse, turn right, then first left along Königstrasse, then right into Max-Brauer-Allee (approx. 5 mins). There is a taxi rank outside Bahnhof Altona.

The Staatsbibliothek is very close to Dammtor station, about 10 mins walk. So any S-Bahn to Dammtor or buses which stop close are convenient.

Parking. If you can't find a roadside parking space you can use the Elysee Hotel underground garage for 2,50 €/hour.
